NONFICTION LIBRARY

Among the varied text types in our literacy-rich program, we offer a simulation-theme-related library for independent reading. This library is a sturdy display box of leveled high-interest nonfiction books expanding on the theme of the simulation while fully engaging students of varying reading aptitudes. The Nonfiction Library contains five copies of each of five titles, used for independent reading, and 25 copies of a sixth title, which can be used for whole-class reading. Library books are most often used in conjunction with the Literacy Links lesson in Teacher Handbook 2.
